I'm gonna get one for my parents' since their mouse's bluetooth connection with the computer has been failing. Stores only have the newer one, but I can get the old one on amazon.

Anyone experienced with both? Is there a big difference?

The 2 has forcetouch which doesn't move the needle for them and a built in baterry. The older generation needs AA batteries and the risk that Amazon is wrong and it won't get to me on time. Also the older one looks like it may physically click, which they may prefer. They do have smartphones, so touch wouldn't be a dealbreaker.

$30 difference.
