The Greek names are almost always better.

norse mythology has never been as famous or popular as Greek/Roman

in fact I think most people even know about norse mythology is a relatively new thing, and mostly thanks to Marvel Comics

btw, Thor was originally gonna be Hercules. Stan Lee's first instinct was to make a Greek super hero. But then he decided it was too stereotypical. so he wracked his brain for a less known mythology to be more unique

I remember when I first found out about norse myths in grade school, I didn't even know what the word norse meant. but I knew what greek myths were so one day in my school library I found a book about "norse myths" and I just grabbed it right away cause it was new

Eh, some of them.

Sunday is actually derived from German which was translated from Latin (and literally means "day of the sun").

"Monday" is from "Mona", not "Mani" (also no relationship to any gods, just a translation from the Latin).

And Saturday comes from Saturn.

I do wish we had badass month names like they have in Ukrainian.

I'll give you that, looks like my source was wrong on those two.

Already knew Saturday wasn't Nordic.
