There was a short-lived alternative called Hatreon a while back (and it did attract alt-right types who were banned on Patreon), but it crumbled because Visa refused to continue providing financial services to the platform.

It isn't just Patreon that will go after people who espouse disagreeable politics, produce questionable content, or otherwise develop a negative reputation. Visa, Mastercard, Stripe, and PayPal are also a factor and a major one because they collectively control a very, very large portion of the currency exchange process.

Well, I don't know what it is these days, but a year ago Peterson was making about $70,000 a month on Patreon. On top of his salary as a professor and his profits as a writer.

It isn't just Nazis that get banned from Patreon. But if they don't ban their users, then of course it will attract more Nazis than platforms that do.

I appreciate their stated support for free speech and all, but Peterson's support is already suspect. He and his fellow panelists did kick Faith Goldy off a free speech panel after she appeared on a white nationalist podcast.
