Current Events > SpiderVerse is DEFINITELY a better film than Homecoming, and I loved the Latter.

My only gripes--

POTENTIAL SPOILERS:

1) Could've fleshed out the family dynamic between Miles, his father, and his uncle,

2) Kingpin was too much of a crackpot villain. His motivations would've been fine if they focused a little more on his character.

I also didn't like that his accent was too 'Brooklyn'-ey. It was as if Liev Schreiber tried too hard to be over-the-top with that..

Homecoming was meh. I liked it, but it could've been better.

I'm not interested in Spiderverse. I've got nothing against Miles Morales as a character but he tends to be a harbinger to the politically correct course-change that is currently still tanking the comics. Between spiderverse and Captain Marvel I've got my lifeboat packed and I am ready to abandon ship before it all goes the way of Star Wars and Dr. Who.

Hell even in Marvel's Spider-Man, which was an excellent game, instead of playing as an actual powerful female who could've had interesting gameplay like Spider-woman or Black Cat we got an unpowered MJ spouting misandry between forced stealth segments.

Also not looking forward to Disney's Daredevil, which will likely be based off Mark Waid's run.

You can believe what you want, but the Reapers are coming.

Yeah I loved the movie. The animation and artstyle are both sublime and worth watching just for that alone. The likeable characters and story (whilst admittedly generic) only further the appeal. Would definitely recommend to anyone. Hopefully Miles's interpretation in the MCU is done just as well.

Were you half asleep during the film?

There were plentiful scenes that fleshed out the dynamic between the father, the uncle, and the son. You just had to pay attention to various details that were shown rather than spelled out.

Same with Kingpin. His motivation is quite tragic.

Why don't you give it a chance before applying your prejudices on the movie?

For me, there weren't enough. I felt the most for Jake Johnson even though he has way less scenes than Morales with his family.
