So I am pretty confident one of my co-workers is pretty into me. We get along great at work, make each other laugh, help each other out, she is a couple years older with a daughter, but she is still really cute.

Lately she has been acting a bit weird and bringing up some odd conversations.

First she starts commenting on how a new coworker hits on women and asks why I don't do stuff like that, then a little while later she asks what I would do if someone made comments on my looks at work, next she asks me about how I would react to someone grabbing my butt. After that she tells my best friend in a text that my ass looks delicious. She apologized to me repeatedly for it and I'm not sure what she is apologizing for at this point since I haven't seen the message yet. When she finds out my friend didn't tell me about the message she goes out of her way to show me the text. I laughed it off, but then today she texts me and wants to make sure I wasn't offended by it because she wasn't joking.

So far I have been kind of playing dumb, but I don't want a relationship right now. I have a lot in my life I am trying to sort out and I don't think our interests are very compatible. I want to turn her down as gently as I can because she is a great person, but I don't want to be like "hey I think you like me and that's cool but I'm not interested" because that sounds terrible.

When we talked about if I was dating anyone I thought I made it clear that I wasn't looking for anything, but I don't know how much longer I can just play dumb.

This. I used to work at Arby's and one of the girls grabbed my butt. I reported her to the GM who then fired her the next day. I don't play and neither should you.

A lot of people do. Some people around here think it's weird to have conversations with people you talk to on the phone. Says a lot about how personable they are. As in, not at all.

It's a faux pas to be interested or pursue entanglements with coworkers for a reason.

It can create extremely bad working environments both if it goes well or badly, and it could even result in a schism in the work place where people have to take sides.

I wouldn't recommend going after it, it'll be better for everyone involved.

I think your options are:

1. Be very clear that youre not looking for a relationship right now because of life things.

2. Inquire about a no strings attached sex only relationship, because shes totally into you.

3. Change your employment situation (report to hr after doing #1 if she wont let up, change shifts, etc)

I mean you either go out for a drink with her and see where it goes or you tell her you're not interested in dating. Not sure what's more to say.

Talking on the phone is annoying as hell why would anyone want to do it? But ya I'm not personable at all.

Neither am I, I have said I don't want to date anyone, but I haven't specifically said I don't want to date her. I think the coworker who keeps hitting on customer's told her I like her. He seems to think all men are trying to hit on all women.

Why won't she just say something out right so I can decline. Instead I have to think about how to respond to things like "sleep is better with someone else" "I wasn't talking about dogs or cats"
