No reason I can find at the moment. Maybe something went wrong with her surgery

She had Lasik in October and posted in November later that she still wasn't well enough to return. If she'd gone blind as a result of the surgery, that'd be a pretty big reason to become super depressed suddenly.

Or if it was expensive.

All those Lasik suicide stories kept me from ever considering the surgery.

Lasik isn't very expensive anymore, unless she was getting some sort of special treatment for a serious issue maybe.

I would be devastated if I had life long dry eye after lasik.

Geez.

I had LASIK surgery back in 2011. I recovered in under a week. Hell, probably 3 days. I was just 20 though.

And with deep discounts from knowing the right people, it was still 1.5k per eye. So a 3000 dollar elective surgery.

I can't imagine having to recover for longer than a month. Wish we knew more about what happened.

This. Your eyes sometimes keep developing into your late 20s. I had my done last year and don't regret it though.

Uh what?

You can get it as early as you want, and then have another corrective surgery if your eyes change.

I literally waited a solid 6 years before I got my surgery bc my parents learned of all the risks and wanted to wait a bit.

Not to mention my surgeon owned his own practice, and regularly went to Haiti to give free eye surgeries to children. He was the real fucking deal.

No less than 20 minutes after first shaking his hand did I see better than 20/20 in their dimly lit patient waiting room.

Three or four days of discomfort later, my life was genuinely changed.

I genuinely don't understand the 25 comment.

Sure, at 16 or something you are probably too young.

But younger people recover faster and they have longer to enjoy the benefits of this surgery. I'd say it's actually smarter to get it as soon as your surgeon feels confident.

Because it's literally wasting money and adding risk for little to no benefit. You'll likely have to get another procedure in a few years because your eyes will have continued to develop and your vision will blur again.

Damn, her eyes were super pretty too. I want to ask where her husband was in all of this but I guess sometimes people are really good at hiding their intentions.

Lasik can make you blind but it's extremely rare.

When I got Lasik done at 25 none of the good clinics would do it to anyone younger. This is in Canada which is where people travel from abroad for Lasik. You need a stable prescription plus to be 25.maybe things have changed in the last few years

There was only one really shady cheap clinic that would do under 25
