According to Harvard's report, participants who ate larger quantities of starchy vegetables, like corn, potatoes, and peas, were more likely to gain weight. "Corn was the worst, with two pounds of weight gained for every additional serving over four years," SheFinds said. The reason? These starchy foods have higher glycemic loads, producing frequent, intense blood sugar spikes after they are eaten, which can ultimately make a person want to consume even more.

By contrast, the study found that participants who ate plenty of high-fiber vegetables, like kale and string beans, were likely to lose weight over time.

Eh I'll still eat corn. It's delicious. It doesn't actually sound like it's "bad for you" though anymore than calories are bad for you. If you eat the right amount, you are fine.

Apparently corn is less sugar than fruit. False alarm boys.

Gee thanks, Harvard.

This controversial finding was obtained by flipping through self reported food diaries of what they ate in a week once every 4 years and self reported weight once every 2 years. As for those that ate fiber filled extremely low cal veggies? More likely to lose weight. Wowie!

This was all fashion writer and avid nutrition blogger "SheFinds" needed to pontificate about blood sugar spikes over calories for weight gain and fellow makeup reviewer Amanda to announce that Harvard said corn is the unhealthiest vegetable.

There's an entire case study showing potatoes, milk and a rare bit of meat is enough to survive. Ever hear of Ireland?

I heard no potatoes nearly drove them to extinction

The English and the Roman Catholic Church would have been responsible

But history shows that they've driven dozens of peoples to the brink of if not full on extinction
