Its not just point and click.

If they were in a life or death emergency, I feel like most people would die.

A lot of first timers I shoot with dont even know to chamber a round after loading in the mag and taking the safety off.

Well, they dont know how to take the safety off . . . anyway, learn these things work, even if you just watch instructional videos.

Even if you dont want to own one, you should know how to handle a lot various weapons safely.

I dont plan on getting a gun but when I was maybe 12 my dad took me to visit his friend who lives out in the country and him and my dad taught me how to shoot. Important skill imo

Learning to drive stick is pointless in 2018 unless you're part of some niche classic car club or you drag race Fast and Furious style.

Automobiles will be automated in like 10 years anyway.

I feel like everyone should get exposure to the most common weapons in case they need to fire one and/or at least handle one safely.

I agree. People who want to own guns should take training. Its not a must know skill for everyone else like youre making it sound.

That's different, manual is obsolete and isn't necessary to learn. Most car companies don't even produce them anymore with the exception of high performance cars.

Everyone should know how to operate a backhoe. Even if you never plan on buying one you should at least be familiar with the operation of heavy machinery.

I can use a shotgun. Is that good enough?

Exactly! The amount of times we've gone to a cemetery to inter someone but the grave wasn't dug is at least once; if everyone knew how to do it this wouldn't ever happen again.

I learned how to fire a gun by watching a Youtube video about how to fire a gun after I Google how to fire a gun. I also know how to properly load and fire a civil war era cannon, and how to properly set C4 explosive, skills that everyone should know in case of emergency.
