Thankfully this is a common search on google so I'm not the only one.

But yeah I don't get the deal with deodorant spray, even ones that don't have aluminum. It first happened when I used Rexona deodorant. I used to use axe as a teen and I don't mind them but for some reason just don't buy it anymore.

It's possible you have developed a bit of a skin allergy to one of the components. I have the same issue and even get a rash from regular deodorants. All I use now is a dermo sensitive variety. No more itching or rash.

It doesn't happen with deodorant stick, which I also use, just exclusively with the spray. Years ago I read that it was because of the aluminum in deodorants back in the day.

Stick is my preferred method anyway, even before my allergy. It's just easier and doesn't leave such an asphyxiating odor as a spray does, and thus effectively doesn't bother other people as much.

Unless its the white chalky sticks, deoderent makes my armpits itch and will eventually turn them bright red with an outright painful chemical burn type thing. Spray doesnt do it, but anything similar to the old spice sticks do

Maybe it depends on the type of sticks. Do they have the words "anti-perspirant" on them? That's usually how I know it's the kind that will make my armpits itch.
