Pros:
-the story is simplistic, but i think it works in its favor. Aquaman went trough hero journey and save the day. It is just his story overcoming challenge. There is no justice league bait, any sequel bait, etc. A straight adventure and action.
-it looks amazing. One of the best looking superhero movie ever. The CG, the composition, it looks great.
-fight scenes and actions are solid.
-jason momoa is great
-there is a fucking minor creature spoilerkaiju that aquaman controls. The design is straight up taken fron something like pacific rim

Cons:
-some minor acting by minor characters are awful. The actor portraying young aquaman is bad.
-some cheesy lines with weak delivery by minor characters too.

I think it is the best DCMU movie by date. If you like and have high tolerance of superhero stuff, watch it.

If you generally dislike superhero stuff, avoid it.

some marvel films still have better scripts, i guess i would put it around good marvel film like or iron man 1 or ant man 1 (havent watched 2), but compared to marvel's peak it is still pale in comparison.

but i always feel the actions in DC movies are generally better than marvel's. it has alot of wide shot, greatly choreographed fight with clear CGI. marvel, save for infinity war and winter soldier, rely on too much motion blur and shaky camera making their fight scenes blurry mess.

some shots of Aquaman is just god damn impressive. from the CG works, camera angle, composition.

one of the scene is just fucking breathtaking. you will know when you see it. the movie is at the very worst, is an amazing eye candy, especially seen on IMAX

yes. he controls a several thousand years old kaiju in the end, and he is pretty damn strong himself too

patrick wilson is also great. i think all the main cast did a great job. the minor cast, some of them are kinda awkward. both the dialogue and their delivery
