I decided to buy something a bit more under the radar and that only enthusiasts would recognize. I'm pretty happy with the purchase. The spring drive along with titanium is a bit different from my other pieces but I am enjoying it.

Current collection includes:
- Rolex explore 2 black
- 15400 royal oak
- Tudor black bay bronze
- Omega planet ocean GMT
- GS snowflake (pic)

I mean I just care about the look. I feel like most watch faces are so busy. I wanted a minimalist ones. I don't really know brands. The cheap ones I get work for a long time.

I understand. Most people who get into horology get into it more the mechanic works of art that are created on a small detailed scale, or for brand recognition. Either way, as long as you like your watch it's all that matters.

Thanks. I think the next addition is in about 6 months will be some JLC or a Cartier tank/solo. It's taken me a bit to build up but eventually I'll probably sell off some pieces and end up with a Lange

good to see that you're thinking it through thoroughly, a lot of people don't put enough thought into their collections. mine's down to just 3 pieces now, a dress GMT, a nice diver and a beater diver. only 7 days a week and one wrist to wear it

Haha, I would not think of a 3k watch as a beater. My beater is just an older version/different color of my nice diver

Haha, I would not think of a 3k watch as a beater. My beater is just an older version/different color of my nice diver

This is true lol but the thing is built like a tank. I will say that traveling to places that have to sales tax (Portland) for the day to make a purchase makes it more bearable if you're near or can fly within an hour.

for me a beater watch is something i take to dirty places, places with a higher risk of getting robbed, losing it or having it get really dirty/scratched.
