The jokes don't seem to be funny most of the time, one of the characters is a repulsive human being, one of them is very unlikeable, his love interest is bland and also unlikeable, and the other two fall into that syndrome where neither of the two characters in the relationship have any character outside of that relationship. And the show seems to emphasize the romance part of the day-to-day life of these New Yorkers overly much. Also, that ending was absolutely awful. What do people see in this show that I do not?

I find the show was best after 3rd season. Some of those jokes won't be ok in 2018. like the naked joke of getting laid, if you just get naked. that would be very controversial for our times due to the SJW.

I liked the whole thing. Even the ending.

My biggest gripe is that Ted is a boring was main character but I like the other characters enough to make up for it. Same goes for Ross in Friends

Barney is in the interesting place of being the shittiest person in the group while also being by far the most likable/charismatic, except for maybe Marshall. The show thrives off of him alone.

The storyline with his father is probably one of the better serious arcs of the show as well.

The fact that the entire show is a flashback and the high degree of continuity within the show is likely a part of it as well, though I think most will say it outstayed its welcome.

I watched the whole series but only a couple of seasons were really good. The ending was terrible. I liked the actors and at their peak they're funny but the show as a whole was average at best.

1. The cast dont work well together at all, which is weird because individually they're pretty good
2. Audience led on for multiple seasons hoping they'd discover who the Mom eventually is..and when they finally introduced her, she was in half an episode then killed off
