A week ago we got a new fire alarm. I turned it on and it went, "TESTING: WARNING, GAS LEAK DETECTED"
So naturally, I assumed it's testing its alarms, and didn't even think there might be a gas leak. Welp My entire backyard and basement smell like sulfur today. I've been borderline dying of the flu for the past 2 weeks. Fuck you technology. I'm going to walk 50 feet away from my house in freezing weather to smoke my cigarette. We probably should have evacuated, but it's 3:00 AM now. --- ... Copied to Clipboard!

That's fucked up. It really said "TESTING" right before that? Did it ever say it again though?

You have propane too? I hate that sulphur smell, but it's better than carbon monoxide.
This sounds like coincidence to me though, propane is a heavy gas, and if you didn't smell it then it wasn't there when you tested the alarm. Mine give me the same "gas detected" message when I test them. --- PSN:defTommo ... Copied to Clipboard!

You have propane too? I hate that sulphur smell, but it's better than carbon monoxide. Maybe, but there is still a very funky sulfur smell engulfing the area around my house. The smell is coming from the pipe that comes out of the back of the house. I'm a computer guy, I'm not a handyman, so I don't know. Come to think of it, it does smell worse around the basement sink, and I do remember the bathwater being a weird color a while ago. It might be backed up sewage. Regardless, we should have someone coming tomorrow. I feel a little less worried about spontaneously blowing up. --- ... Copied to Clipboard!

I have alarms like that too. When ever I test them it says Warning this or that detected. It is supposed to say that. If it detected it without you testing it it will keep going off saying Warning...
