You are multiplying nothing since the zero is in the exponent, so it should be 0 not 1.

Think about it.

Congrats TC, you have just learned that mathematics sometimes defies intuition.

tbf at least that inequality holds true in some number systems. (The p-adic numbers for example have one and only one way to represent a number, irrational or rational.)

Aside from 0^0 I know of no instances where a^0 =/= 1. >_>

I refuse to believe that the average CEmen claiming the inequality knows what a p-adic number is

The pattern is there my brother. Think about it from the opposite end, rather than forward.

What do you get if you raise a number to the -1th (-1st? I dunno which is the correct term) power?
What do you get if you raise a number to the 1st power?

What's logically going to be inbetween?

Nope. I'm totally not the white ninja. You're confusing me with someone else.

I just say "to the negative 1" lol. Stuff like that annoys me

This is faulty logic.

Divide by 1. Divide by -1. Dividing by 0 does not mean you get whats in between.

This is faulty logic.

Divide by 1. Divide by -1. Dividing by 0 does not mean you get whats in between.

It may not generalize to other operations, but in the context of exponentiation he's right. >_>

For nonzero x, x^0 = x^(1-1) = x^1 * x^(-1) = x * 1/x = 1

That's basically the same thing as what was being said.

Good thing were not dividing. You clearly dont understand logarithmic scale.
