because spirits kind of looked lame and the last two characters they announced sucked (well mostly Incineroar sucked)

But wow, the gameplay is way more fun than smash 4. And the single player content is way way better as well. I'm 8 hours into WoL and it's like event match on crack.

Also I feel like all the bad characters got buffed. Zelda, Dorf, Jiggly etc.

It's too early to know what the balance is, but so many bad characters got new tools

I started playing it earlier today, after buying a Switch, and it's pretty dope, so far.

The single player content is much better than Brawl or 4, but man the online is still trash. The worst part about it is that I had to pay for online this time around and the netcode is still trash even after using the ethernet cable (which I had to buy separately as well). Sometimes I get good matches but most of the time there is an obvious delay in inputs that I can't play using reflex anymore but rather cheesing stuff that works against laggers.

I couldn't for the life of me get my Switch to connect to my home wifi, or by sharing the connection from my computer via ethernet cable (router is two stories up so a direct connection was out of the question), but connecting to my phone's hotspot while it's connected to that same wifi is working perfectly fine.
