His combo moves are actually stronger than if you just use B attacks to do them. Also, if you do 41236+A (half-circle forward) you get access to a red multi-hit fireball that isn't in his regular moveset.

You can also dash-cancel out of his focus attack like in SF4 which sets him up for a fully charged side smash if you hit with a level 3.

So does like.....a lot of the characters. Sonic's spindash is the same buttons, Mario moves are basically all New Mario Bros moves, etc etc
