Why do only the bad people appear to have the ability to organize? All the good people who don't want to kill which makes up well over 90% of society just board up their houses and hide like scared mice.

In real life, if there were a day with no laws, the good people would dominate. More resources. More people. Etc.

This movie conveniently ignores shit like this to make a lawless day seem scarier than it actually would be. Stupid.

In the second film they show the government has resorted to sending out kill teams in trucks because there are not enough people participating in purge day.

Most good people buy defensive walls and shit just to keep people out vs arming up and patroling their neighborhood. There are good people out saving or protecting people beyond the resistance group but its not orginized for whatever reason.

The resistance does have orginization but the government is actively hunting them since they are anti purge.

Actually, it makes no sense for a completely different reason;

All crime is legal, which includes white collar crimes.Corporations would just wait until that day of the year to do all their underhaded things, like firebombing their competition, making illegal deals and the like.

Then you have the fact that even if 1 out of every 4 people were killed, you would have the population drop overnight. It would take much more than a year to replace the workers, especially in important roles like paramedics or truckers.

Also one day without law enforcement is going to cost way more money than it would to just pay everyone for that day, so it doesn't even make sense as a cost-cutting move. All the destruction and whatnot.
