If you have a friend come over and they get towed because you didn't register their car as a guest vehicle, should you pay for their tow fee? Or do you think it's on the guest? Or would you split it? What if the guest asked to make sure they were parking in the right place, and you said yes?

If this is the case I think a good friend would offer to pay.

I checked with him before, when I visited for thanksgiving, and he said it was the right place to park and I'd be fine. Today I got towed and had to pay $300. He said he would pay it but he just paid off his credit card and doesn't have money. He is a good friend so I won't hold it against him if he doesn't pay, but I kind of hope he will offer at least some of it at a later date since I don't have much spare cash right now.

As long as you have any culpability you should kick a couple dollars in your friend's direction.
