Looks like Walmart had most of the rights to sell the game and sold out, amazon sellers are selling them for over $50. Looks like Walmart and Hasbro are making bank off of millennials.

in the board game community, we view the game as trash and an obvious quick corporate cash-in. But apparently its working.

How do you millennials feel about that? :)

Probably small amount produced? Walmart is the perfect place to sell it though. You get the millenials ironically buying it and the older crowd buying it because they want to make fun of millennials. This probably would have been taking up shelves at a regular board game shop or even a Target.

Coincidentally Fantasy Flight Games released the Fallout - New California expansion a few weeks ago. I"m not a fan of the Fallout board game, you can kind of feel its missing something. Fans even made a full co-op version to replace the competitiveness of the game.

I rate Spirit Island an orgasm/10, or a Hollow Knight/10.

I love games that don't have "screw you" luck, factions that wildly change gameplay, and Smash Bros like content. Spirit Island scratches all those itches with the races, scenarios, and less top decking :)
