All the sparring and training between the regulars was super refreshing. I mean Piccolo was going toe to toe with Ultimate Gohan, how the fuck would that ever happen in the regular series?

Always nice getting to see everyone's unique techniques that don't normally work because they were so horrendously outclassed.

Ultimately I think it was a good choice for the show, but man was it jarring to get used to. Power differentials have been a major point to the franchise for so long, and to just all of a sudden make such a massive shift took people by surprise.
