My apartment has steam radiators, it is pretty old, so when the heat turns on it sounds like someone is hammer and hitting it on a metal pipe. We have bled the heaters, but the noises persist.

You should pee on it to watch it steam up.

I would have to pee in the boiler for that to work... and the boilers is under high pressure which means it could explode if contaminated with urine.
