Obviously theres a lot of work put into it and the world is cool. But the economy is fucking ridiculous. For a game that boasts realism, why the fuck does every dangerous outlaw or sherriff or carriage driver only carrying 10 cents on them? Really pushing the microtransactions here. The items are ridiculously priced. A can of beans is worth more than a golden wedding ring lol

Also, my horse keeps coming back to me with half his cores gone for no fucking reason. And I'm still super early on so horse provisions are few and far between. I'd much rather the enemies drop some damn carrots then 10 cents.

Also Cripps won't set up the camp where I tell him. Always sets it in Lemoyne like 5 times before he listens which wastes 10 bucks

I think they also nerfed the lasso since people figured out you could use it for easy perfect pelts. It hasn't worked right all day for me

I went back to playing the story. Cripp kept moving my camp every few minutes even when I was on my way to it. Kinda irritating. I'm gonna wait for my friends to get on.

they monetized GTA online by accident, or rather, they didn't expect people to go in as hard as they did

RDR2 online wasn't monetized by accident, every part of it is specifically built to get the microtransactions flowing

This is only the beta too. I hope the feedback from the community makes Rockstar reevaluate some shit.

ive watched several streams of it and it seems to be the same thing gta4 and 5 online were, which is to say a handful of people having fun and twice their number in rdm guys that just want to shoot everyone that's doing anything interesting

Yeah, this happens to me. I just want to set up a camp outside Blackwater, but he keeps placing the camp in Ambarino, Lemoyne, and basically everywhere besides where I pick. Friggin' waste of funds on top of the normal (pointless) camp/stabling fees.

Aren't feathers like $0.20-30 apiece? I've just been murdering anything that moves near Blackwater, dropping it at the butcher, then repeating. Made about $100 today...that I stupidly wasted buying another stable slot I didn't need. (BTW, you can get a free chestnut Arabian or something in the stable for the next 30 days, I think it is.)

Most are, but the herons, pelicans, and owls common north of Saint Denis have feathers worth over a dollar. Shoot em with a .22 to get clean kills and you can get 3-4 bucks per bird.

Edit: I should add, there's a ton of small stuff you can kill while you're hunting for the birds that you just stuff in your pocket, too, so the money really adds up fast.

I don't see anything wrong with it, how much are you expecting to get for each action/item? Buy hay for your horse not carrots, go hunting and raid the houses scattered around you get items from them such as ammo, food, even the yellow colored ones but rarely get jewelry. Lasso hogs/deer/rams/elk/etc...then get the kill with the knife up close to get decent pelts.

Regardless of the quality of the game, the 'realism' thing is pretty obvious marketing hype. Yeah, horse balls shrink, but you still have a posse of 7 fully armed deputies, already on their horses, even if you kill someone in the middle of the wilderness. So what's the point?

Once you unlock the fishing rod you can make bank ridiculously fast

Fishing and hunting is the way to make bank now, idk why they made hinting so op in the multiplayer. Im sitting on around 300 bucks after buying an outfit, bolt action rifle and bow

Also, clearing out bandit camps for treasure maps is pretty lucrative

They need to lower the prices on most things though, its ridiculous

Yeah, I want to unlock fishing quickly so I can capitalize on all the money-making opportunities. I'm worried that Rockstar will change (read: f*** up) the selling prices like they've been doing for the weapons, so it'd be great to have a few days of anglin' in before the next patch.
