A New Jersey Substitute Teacher will be getting COAL in her stocking this year after she told her first grade class that Santa Clause ISN'T REAL!!

Michael Raj, the Cedar Hill School Principal sent a letter to parents on the incident and reiterated the "sensitive" nature of the topic

According to outraged parents however, St. Nick wasn't the only cherished children's character she tarnished as Mayra Aboyoun posted on FB that "Ms M" also told the 6 year olds that elves and reindeers weren't real either!!

She went o the offensive against other kid favourites including the easter bunny, tooth fairy, leprechauns among others.

Ginger Holmes, another parent said "She told the children, your parents buy all your gifts. My daughter literally said, she took away our imagination"

The members of the parent group had some choice words for that teacher, calling her the "GRINCH" and others demanding she ge the boot!

Rene Rovtar, the superintendent said she was "troubled and disheartened" by the incident and said that childhood wonder associated with all the holidays and traditions are special to her

Principal Raj has spoken to her about her poor judgement but they haven't released her nae or if she will be fired

Mayra, whose daughter heard this said she was heartbroken and she took her kids to meet SANTA ASAP and wrote "Don't ever mess with my Christmas Spirit!".

well its a dick move to tell a bunch of little kids santa isnt real

i say let them have the joy. my seven year old figured it out on his own last week. he kept asking questions about things that dont add up. i warned him not to question it too much... hes also already questioning religion. i see it as a litmus test

6 is way too young to know about santa. that's fucked up to take away some of the magic of childhood at that young an age

also wtf about reindeer. I guess she's a moron?

I wonder if the teacher told the kids that because she sincerely thought it would help them, or because she unconsciously wanted to enjoy watching the kids freak out? If the first is the case, she still should've known better, but I'd be a little more sympathetic to her.

Someone should make a poll, at what age did you know the Santas etc of the world were fake? To me it seems kids start figuring out around 7 or 8 at the latest and that was pre internet.

No idea what the norm would be now.
