So big that I've never heard of it. I thought the dud this year was Venom or something.

They finished filming it right when King Arthur came out.

I guarantee you whoever greenlit it has basically had the worst year ever at this point.

Venom was huge. You really must not have been paying attention.

I mean, I knew it was gonna crap when I saw the trailer. the setting makes no sense. its supposed to be medieval but some of the clothing in the trailer looks almost modern.

I wonder if these companies somehow get of tax break from making Robin Hood or King Arthur movies or something. There's got to be a reason why they keep doing this.

These movies are having a hard time finding a target audience.

In order to make a good Robin Hood film, you have to make it adhere to the classic formula. Robin Hood doesn't work without the classic camp and sword play.

Not every hero has to be brooding and pensive.

My guess is they were in need of something for the Thanksgiving holiday and had nothing good to put out, so they shit out a Robin Hood movie. Why or how they sunk $100M on the damn thing though is beyond me.

Venom is terrible, but it killed in earnings.

there was an unintentionally hilarious bit on a recent episode of Forged in Fire, where the final round challenge was to forge an all-steel construction breakdown bow that is apparently inspired by the Robin Hood movie, and to announce the weapon, they wheeled out this TV cart and played a pre-recorded video with Jamie Foxx and Taron Egerton giving the rundown and a plug for the movie, and the reaction of the contestants to the video was just like "uhhhh.... okay? wat" lmao. it totally fell flat.
