Depends on the degree, and if you end up in some high business position without one, sometimes they'll make you get a degree to keep your job. Which is insanely stupid, but it happens.

The boring answer is it depends on your chosen career path. In general most "career" jobs will require it, but there are many other ways to make very good money without a degree especially if you go down the trade route.

There's certain fields you just need a degree for. Physics, mathematics, engineering, chemistry, etc. Any job that focuses heavily on these will require a formal education more than likely
