Yeah. It's way too easy to buttdial 911 since you don't need to unlock phone to call them.

Oh yeah. Called em on my mom when she pulled a gun on me. Called em when my redneck neighbor was suicidal and wouldn't come inside the house.

Yeah, for serious and not so-serious reasons. I was a really stupid kid and teenager.

Once when I was over at my ex-girlfriend's place. I called them and immediately hung up. They then called back and she had to make up a story about how it was her baby brother that called.

It's amazing how I'm still alive.

Yeah, the night my dad tried to kill me. Then at my last job when a guy was having a heart attack in the parking lot. Then at my current job when a lady wouldn't wake up, turned out to be a diabetic coma.

Sort of. I witnessed a double car accident and while I didn't call 911, I spoke to the operator on the phone of one of the drivers (it had just started to freezing rain, like literally just minutes. I was walking home and was at the bottom of a hill on a route that people drive fast on. A car passed me and went off into a snowbank in the right lane. An SUV, also coming down the hill, went into the left lane to avoid the car in the snowbank. The 2nd driver lost control and went into a telephone pole on the left side. He was probably going 30-35. There was more traffic, so I had to slow cars down before I could get across the street. When I got to the SUV, the dude was bleeding from the head and immediately said he called 911 and handed me his phone. He also had a broken leg. The initial driver was fine. She basically just slid and got stuck in the snow. It was a pretty intense experience and it happened on my birthday. I was out because I wanted to buy lottery scratch tickets and vodka. I ended up winning $28 across the 2 tickets I bought. I actually got a call from the injured driver's lawyer a few years later because apparently the cop that came wrote down my report incorrectly. He said I was walking down the hill, but I told him I had been heading up, but turned around when the first car went off. I cleared it up and explained that there were no faults involved. Neither vehicle was speeding and both accidents were the result of the weather, which was essentially a flash freeze. Even the damn sidewalk was slick, and it was fine when I left the liquor store not 5 minutes earlier).

last time I was on the interstate and I realized someone was tailing me. it had gone on for like 15 minutes so I decided to change lanes a few times (3 lanes to play with) and he kept matching my speed and lanes play for play.

about 20 minutes later they suddenly spin out of control across all 3 lanes to the shoulder then back again across all 3 lanes and flipped in the median. this is all in dry weather

I then called 911 to explain the whole thing and that he eventually crashed. never did find out what happened I just assumed he was under the influence

My first roommate and I called the cops a couple times when we could hear the guy in the apartment below us beating the shit out of his wife. I don't like dealing with the police but that was a situation where we had no other options.

I did once; I went on a date with this chick from okcupid. It was a pretty typical "she does not look like she does in her pictures" date. I knew it wasn't going anywhere, but I remained cordial and dropped her off.

Day or two later we're texting, she's tryna set something up I think, and I just straight up say it's not gonna work out or whatever bullshit I slung. She ends up calling/texting me and saying she had literally slit her wrists. No idea if she actually did or not, but I said fuck it I can't risk it, so I dialed 911, gave the operator her address, and had them send someone.

That was that. It was pretty weird, my phone turned on some weird "emergency mode" app thing that I'd never seen before and totally wasn't expecting.
