I loved my shiny (yellow) Azumarril that I nicknamed Pikablu. Im pretty sure I lost that one in my most recent data loss though :(

Really I just bred the ones I really liked (pink Ninetails-A, blue Reuniclus) and ignored the ones I didnt.

People like rare stuff, I guess, and to be fair, there are some good ones like Charizard, Gyarados and Metagross. The pink, green and teal ones are so butt-ugly though. Like couldn't they stop using shit, unnatural colors?

The shiny Gible given for beating the tower in Black 2 was such a "fuck you" since shiny Garchomp is completely indistinguishable from regular unless you're seeing them side by side (and even then it's tough). Meanwhile, White 2 gives you shiny Dratini, whose whole evolutionary chain has way more distinct shinies and better looking ones, too.

I would rather have "hardly different Garchomp" over "vomit green Dragonite" any day of the week

I'm no fan of green, but Noivern's shiny is fucking beautiful. The whole Rowlet line is also good.

First 3 gens put the most thought into well. Most of the shiny sprites. By gen 5 we ended up with that "change their primary color and any secondary colors either are darker versions of that new color or lighter versions of the original color" method.

lol no. Dragonite is one of the few shinies that makes the green work. It looks like a classic western dragon. And anyway, even if you don't like its shiny, at least White 2 gives you the option of a different colored dragon. Black 2 gives you...Garchomp.

Depends on the generation? In 6 shinies had a higher chance to make shinies.

That only worked in gen 2, not 6. In Gen 2 (and technically in Gen 1 too), shininess was determined by DV's, and DV's being passed down in breeding made breeding shinies from shinies much more likely.

Hey, while we're on the topic of pokemon, what's the good shit I can get on the 3ds version of yellow to transfer over to sun/moon? I just got it for my flight, but I haven't played it since. There's fissure machamp, but they can't have no guard and fissure at the same time.

You sure about this? I bred huge amounts of shinies with my shiny ditto. Of course I also found a bunch in the game.

100% sure. The only things from gen 6 that boost odds of breeding shinies are having the two parents be from different languages, and having the Shiny Charm. In gen 2, having a parent be shiny had a direct impact on the chances of breeding shiny babies because DV's, that determine shininess, are passed down in breeding.

Anything you want, if you use the Mew glitch. Except Mew, unless you use an insanely dangerous glitch to manipulate its Trainer ID.
The TM list in RBY is pretty dire though, and Clefairy/Clefable can't learn Soft-boiled in them. However, anything you transfer from RBY or GSC will have its hidden ability upon transfer.

As far as shinies go, I have time to look things over, and..I'll list a few ones I really like.
Charizard, Ponyta, Voltorb/Electrode, Mew, Yanma/Yanmega, Umbreon, Flygon, Glalie, Beldum/Metang/Metagross , Victini, Serperior, Emboar, Stoutland, Ferroseed, Chandelure, Mega-Gengar, Yveltal, Oranguru, Bruxish, Buzzwole, Blacephalon

As in, the pokemon each have different language tags in their status screen (such as ENG, FRE, JPN, SPA, etc.); as long as both have different tags, or one parent has a tag while the other does not (as in, it is your own language), then they will have a higher chance of breeding shinies.
