If you watch most videos online, guess what...there are ads.

Its library is better than Netflix and Prime. The ads equate to maybe...4.5 minutes in a 30-minute show.

Come on people!

The entire point of Ads is so the content provider can afford to provide content...why should someone deal with those ads if theyre directly paying the content provider?

I have Netflix, Hulu, Prime and HBO Now. Hulu is not the top spot in that mix. MAYBE if all you care about is rewatching 90s sitcoms and cartoons. It's pretty much void of any quality original content and the same day broadcasts can be found free, legally, elsewhere.

most millennials have some weird anxiety about or aversion to being subjected to ads anywhere in anything they do. somehow there is this weird sense of entitlement that has gotten really big with them about not ever having to watch a commercial. it's a symptom of the instant-gratification culture, i think.

for example,

you have stuff like this where millennials assume that they are entitled to not view ads on a streaming service simply because they pay the subscription for that service. as if a streaming service by definition should have no commercials. not, you know, how it really works in the real world, where a company that offers a subscription service can offer whatever the fuck they want for what they charge. paying the subscription fee for a company's service entitles you to exactly what that company offers for that fee, nothing more, nothing less.

And people are allowed to not sign up for the service for their own reasons. Thats what were explaining to TC. He doesnt understand why people are against Hulu because of it...theyre against paying for a service and seeing ads. Its not about entitlement. You were that one kid who wore a suit everywhere and acted older than he really was, werent you?

Its not entitlement. Its a preference. Oh I still see ads? Then I dont want to pay for that Ill pay for something else. Using your loose logic choosing to do anything over something else is entitlement. Nah I wont get my tires changed there that other place is cheaper..am I now being an entitled millennial?

Since you are so knowledgeable on the "real word" you probably don't need to have it explained to you that consumers vote with their wallet. As in "I'm not paying money for a service with ads".
Imagine thinking having the right to spend your money as you see fit is entitlement.

as i already said above,

it's fine if that is the reason they don't want to sign up for the service. that is their right, even though their justification is borne out of a false sense of entitlement.

So if one car manufacturer builds a car that just shuts down for 5 minutes every 30 miles and another builds one that does not do the same...those buying the latter do so out of a false sense of entitlement.

In a 30 minute episode you get a one minute ad at the very beginning of the episode and that's it. At least that's my experience, having just subscribed using the deal. Not really a big deal, although I grew up watching cable tv and am able to handle such things. Kind of unsettling seeing how many people cannot.

I like watching Hulu on PS4. It's way better than a sketchy streaming service or messing around with torrents. And as a college student I get Hulu, Showtime, and Spotify Premium for five bucks. Can't beat that.
