I think he hypnotism them to there side. and I feel like if you are under the influence for so long you start siding with him more... it's start being your identity. Sort of like Gollum in lords of the ring

The only time we see Dracula Soul Steal canonically is in Portrait of Ruin, where he steals Death's soul.

Hard to avoid spoilers, my bad. He literally has an attack called soul steal that he shouts out in Ooc. Drains your life / heals him iirc. What he does to some of the other Ooc characters is a bit ambiguous.

Im just glad Konami gave some kind of voice to some of the Belmonts. Dialogue boxes can only get you so far.
Also TC, yes Dracula stole Richter's soul essentially and made him a temporary slave. He did the same with one of the female Belmonts.
