I just play off the cuff and have fun. i think it depends on whether we're talking strategy games or racing/action games here
the only time hardcore meta is unfun in strategy games is when it's stuff like APM tricks in starcraft to make units move in ways that are essentially bugs --- And when the hourglass has run out, eternity asks you about only one thing: whether you have lived in despair or not. ...
