Frequently. Even on my first playthrough I look for methods the developers didn't intend to make myself a god.

Mario Kart DS was unplayable online because of people snaking 24/7.

Glitchers ruined Metroid Prime: Hunters' online too.

Fuck that shit.

Meta gaming ruins games IMO

I just play off the cuff and have fun. Sometimes I even handicap myself or purposefully avoid spamming something to make the experience more thematic.

It's acceptable with an offline game that you've already beaten the hell out of.

I don't because I find it boring. I appreciate that it's the "best" way to do things but if I'm not having fun what's the point?

The best case scenario is when meta and your preferences align though.

i think it depends on whether we're talking strategy games or racing/action games here

the only time hardcore meta is unfun in strategy games is when it's stuff like APM tricks in starcraft to make units move in ways that are essentially bugs

Imagine if videogame meta was used in board games like chess.

Constantly jiggle the table to disorient your opponent.

If you press your clock down only 94% of the way it will click but not engage your timer, granting you infinite time.

Heres the tier list of non-white piece set colors:
- Red
- Silver
- Black
- Clear
