Maybe it's just me but even though it has roughly the same number of sequences as other AC games in the past, the memories within the sequence are shorter. I mean, it is better that there's no pointless faffing about in the "real world" like with AC 2 and 3 and even 4 (much as I love that game)

Also better to be quickly done with the game overall, I suppose. Because you know what's worse than remove whistling? Removing the human shield ability for bullets. Jesus Christ you have no idea how annoying it is to be powerless against all the snipers on the roof.

Unity's one of the ones I skipped. I stopped after Black Flag and didn't pick up again until Origins went on sale earlier this year.

Origins has been on sale now as a matter of fact, for (possibly) black friday. Which I got. I'm going through them after all these years, next of which is syndicate before I try origins and see what people are talking about in regards to it shaking up the system.

So far AC 4 has been the only one I liked. I mean it's still amazing just how good it was, the sailing and being a pirate and just the whole feel of the game. That caribbean setting. Those gorgeous colors. The hilarious beginning of this time you're just being a dude who happened to find the asssassin's uniform and put it on, that always cracked me up, in a good way.

Only thing I liked about Unity was learning about the French Revolution. The next one: syndicate I liked a lot though

Still, it's a shame the french revolution time period was wasted, I think it's too good a setting and that's why they've botched it, they just didn't know what to do with it. So many elements to that time point in history, so many viewpoints and factions.

As for Syndicate, review wise people say it's better although London is such a tiresome, overplayed setting. Still, hope it's good.

From what I remember, the old-timey Sherlock Holmes-esque setting was good. Plus it had probably the best main antagonist in the series so far

Yeah I suspect a jack the ripper mission or dlc, I feel like I saw that somewhere. It might be overdone but victorian london can still be fun. I'm just playing them to get to ancient egypt, a setting I can't believe they finally did.

There's still a whole bunch of shit plastered all over the map so...

Also an online component, which I'm ambivalent about. It's nice to play with others to do a mission but I've never cared for online in gaming, which is unfortunate in today's world with how gaming has progressed but I digress.

Jack the Ripper is DLC for Syndicate. It's actually some of my favorite AC DLC content.

As I suspected, it feels like one of those things that is expected to be included. Well the reviews for syndicate are better and people say that they went back to the better climbing mechanics that ac unity positively ruined (seriously I don't understand what the deal was with this game, why did they change almost everything for the worse) so I'm looking forward to having a good time.
