So apparently this summon is instant Death.. literally... It's amazing! Does it ever fail?! I guess outside of boss fights because we know insta killing bosses would be OP

Doesn't work on anything you'd actually want to use it on, which includes the enemies in the final dungeon.

I felt like Odin barely ever worked for me in FFIV, and Ive played that game a ton. Likely because Id try using it during fights that were a bit challenging still for where I was in the game. If Id go back by Baron and summon Odin vs a group of imps, it would probably mow them down consistently.

When he fails, he basically shows up for a quarter of a second and then instantly disappears.
