Do you feel it was a good challenge of your ingenuity and critical thinking skills?

I thought the puzzles were clever and the ways to solve them really made the gears in my brain turn: I had a lot of "Eureka!" moments when playing that game! Yes, I agree that the game challenged my ingenuity and critical thinking skills.

Even as an inept fool, I liked it.

I liked it, and I even liked the shrines concept as well.

I liked everyone except the motion control hammer ones. Those sucked.

Agree with what was said in this topic. I also liked how the game let you find some alternative solutions and cut corners a bit. That was pretty refreshing for what used to be extremely linear solutions.

I loved it. It wasn't very brain-teasing when the vast majority of the 3D era puzzles revolved around the item you just found in the dungeon. Granted you only had 4-5 core abilities in BotW, but having them all from the outset paired with the open-world stumble-upon design at least gave you the chance to not immediately know which ability would get you through, and pause to noodle that out yourself.

There was something very rewarding about figuring out your average shrine puzzle that the series hadn't evoked in me for a long time. Though in this regard Link Between Worlds does get much credit for being kind of a beta run for flipping the formula and making all your items / abilities available early on.

I wouldn't have minded the motion-control ones if that whole system wasn't so glitched. It's like they didn't even play test them. In theory they could have been good.

The regular ones got a bit repetitive after a while but some were really well designed, ingenious even. Like 9/10 were dirt easy though. I think the game could have done well with just a top 30 or so. Also, all of them being so short really spotlighted the lack of dungeons.
