Greetings, PotD friends! Gather 'round and let me tell you the story of a very special Thanksgiving. I will be telling the story of ICOYAR's Thanksgiving this year, from his perspective, due to his absence.

It all started when my parents drug me from my room the morning of Thanksgiving. "But mom," I said, "But Dad, what if someone mentions me in a negative light? Who then will mark it if I am not there?"

"ICOYAR," replied mom, "I just finished draining your bank account so that you can't attend college. I'm not in the mood to argue with you about this. You're coming and that's final." Even worse than having to leave my beloved PotD behind, my father made me drive. Something about "needing the practice". After dodging several trees that came straight at us, dad took over, saying I might have to do another couple of months of driver's ed before I was ready to get my license.

So we arrive at our destination, the house of a friend of the family whom I haven't seen since I was but a youth of 4. Needless to say, I didn't remember this person in the slightest, and this would be a borefest of the highest degree, with the annoyance of my sister there to further agitate me the entire time. I was prepared for a totally wasted day until I saw her.

My father's friend's daughter, a smoking hot 17-year-old, sitting in the living room, watching a strange show that seemed to be about men throwing a oddly shaped object at each other, then piling up on the ground. I could not approach her as she watched this, as she was totally enthralled, and I could make no conversation about it, with which to captivate her attention. I spent much of the afternoon devising a plan, deciding to make my move after dinner.

The dinner was mediocre at best. After I finished eating, and others had gotten up, I moved over and sat down next to her. I cleared my throat, and after she turned to me, I said, with the elegance of a Shakespearean actor, "What poll?"

"Oh," she said, nearly at a loss for words, "You're so handsome! And charismatic! Teehee!" I almost had her. I needed to do just one more thing to make her mine forever. I reached into my pocket, searching for the item that would insure my love would not be unrequited. But alas, it was not there! Only one person would do something so dastardly.

"SISTER," I cried, with righteous fury, "Where is my 3DS?"

With a smirk, she replied, "I put it in the bathroom, of course. Why don't you go ahead and get it?" Chagrined, I went to the bathroom. After relieving myself, I saw my 3DS next to the sink, and returned it the pocket of denim in which it belonged. I slicked my hair back, and stepped out of the bathroom, ready to rock the girl of my dream's world.

Then I saw it, my worst fear realized. My sister was talking to her, my beloved, the star of my life, my honey buns! I dashed over to them, and shouted, "Begone sister! Do not this day ruin my life again!"

I turned to the girl, hoping beyond hope that no permanent damage had been done. It was not so. "Your sister told me things about you," she said, "She's been badmouthing you since you left, and we can never be together."

I was crushed. My life was destroyed, beyond hope of ever coming back together. It was then that I returned home, cheeks wet. I went to PotD, but no! I could seek no comfort there! After America voted for its own destruction, I was condemned to not post on the board that was my only happiness. I wept, silently, despairing for what the future might hold.

And that's the story, friends, of how ICOYAR saved Thanksgiving.
