The performance gap between desktops and laptops isn't nearly what it used to be. There is still somewhat of a price gap, though, but you can get a good gaming laptop at a reasonable price even without the biggest sale of the year these days.
Biggest advantage for a desktop is upgradeability. On laptops you can usually only - and even this is if you're lucky - upgrade the wifi adapter, RAM and storage devices (sometimes including the optical drive, if there is one). Upgrading the CPU or GPU is out of the question. --- https://imgtc.com/i/0mboxsZ.png <-- Tiamat is best babe, if you disagree you're objectively wrong. https://tinyurl.com/dtlamulana2 <-- La-Mulana 2 LP ... Laptops cost more than the desktop equivalent for performance. Hey have full video cards these days so its performance is pretty close to desktops. In the past they would have a M card which was weaker then a full card. Basically if you need the mobility it's worth it but if you really dont need mobility a desktop is the better choice price wise.

okay so basically you don't need a high end gpu for video editng
If you really care, you can watch that. Editing isn't too bad but the difference is in rendering times. a 1050 is fine but a 1060 is about 20% faster. Which isn't a bid deal, at all. You could just set it up to render overnight. a 1050 will run most games. It'll start to struggle to get 60FPS at 1080p resolution. 1050 ti is better, 1060 is probably the best for now if you want to stay under 800. And then are you able to actually build it? If yes, give me a country and I'll put together a parts list ... Copied to Clipboard!
