I'm a bit shocked at how little love Final Fantasy 3 got Vs Chrono Trigger on this one. Guess it just boils down to personal preference. Both, no doubt at all, were insanely amazing games, Square at the top of their game as it were. I personally just had much more love for FF3's story, gameplay, and secrets all around. If there was a side poll of which was better with the options being 1) Chrono Trigger, 2) Final Fantasy 3, or 3) Both were equally amazing games in their own right- I'd like to hope/think most would choose 3 :-) . Just a personal ramble. The SNES had so many God-Tier games on it, I'd have a hard time picking my top 5-10, much less top one. Funny that: I remember "Genesis does what Nintendon't" back in the day, and everyone I knew had a Genesis (me as well to be fair), but the vast majority of games on it I've all but forgotten, but still remember dialog, combat, and stories from many SNES games to this day (and i'm quite older now and my memory's gone to crap).

Chrono Trigger is the game that people apparently love like a lot. I wasnt surprised at all to see it where it is...

I still don't get the love for Crono Trigger

Chrono Trigger is widely considered the best JRPG, and one of the best games ever.

Only Gen Xers think that Final Fantasy VI is a great game. It has so many shortcomings that have been detailed many times before.

It isn't that 6 is lacking love. It's just that a vote that would normally go for either one is being split, while the other popular series Mario and Zelda only have one option to chose from.

Chrono Trigger is better imo.

Ff6 is good don't get me wrong. But my problem with it, is that the story is real engaging, and then it just stops, and you spend the next ten to twenty hours doing side quests before circling back to the end.

And the end credits shows scenes of utilizing the characters for different puzzles and stuff, and none of these scenes ever happened, but I was left thinking that they would have made the game better.

I liked it a lot, don't get me wrong. But I don't hold it nearly as high as others do. I actually prefer ff4, I thought it was more engaging start to finish

FFVI is slightly better imo, but I can understand people who played both games now enjoying Chrono Trigger more
The art and style and ease of difficulty and combat and pacing, it is all very easily digestible whereas I can see people getting stuck/bored during portions of FFVI.

Eh, FFVI just barely edged out Trigger for me.
However I had to check what console FFIII originally came out on since I only played remakes on portables to make sure they were talking about FFVI, as IMO trigger definitely beat FFIII. (even the remake I played) So I'm wondering if calling it FFIII instead of FFVI cost it more than a few votes.

I love both games, but prefer FFVI.
