Only difference is one gets paid directly for sex and the other via donation.

And that's the legal difference. Escorts also don't sell sex, TECHNICALLY...They sell time..."Ok i'll spend 2 hours with you for x dollars or a donation of x"...If sex SHOULD happen its no different than watching a movie with them...It just happened for free, during the time that they happened to be paying for...mere coincidence.

...At least that's the loophole many use.

Escorts are just prostitutes/hookers who try to cover what they do so they can't get arrested. I would put sugar babies in the hooker category too they use a similar loophole which is you are paying for time together.

Escorts also generally don't have sex with people, but act as trophies for events (e.g., some red carpet event and they want gorgeous women around them). At least the people I've known who hired escorts...
