So as the title suggests, I've been losing sound, so my first thought was to update my driver: nothing.

I found a "solution", which was delete the current driver, reboot the PC and it'll automatically reinstall it. And that worked, for a while. Occasionally, I would lose sound again and have to repeat the process.

Now it's happening again and even that isn't working. It reinstalls the driver but that does nothing.

My mobo's model is: 970a-d3p

As for the rest of my build....

Win 10
RX 480

Any clues?

is this realtek onboard audio? from my experience, realtek audio is notoriously glitchy. one computer, the audio will just glitch out randomly and stop working until a reboot. another computer, I guess the speaker port detection wires are crossed, so to have rear channels enabled, I have to have a plug in some random speaker port that I wouldn't otherwise use. (something like placing a plug in the orange port turns on the black port, or w/e).

anyway, due to years of experiencing these kinds of random glitches with onboard audio, which seem to be unique to each computer, my recommendation would be to get a dedicated sound card unless you can manage to find a solution to your exact issue.
