Is not caring about his gayness an uncommon stance to take? Cause I really just don't get why it matters. It changes nothing about the story except maybe a few trifling background moments.

I obviously don't dislike it, but people are acting like it matters and, even as a gay man myself, I don't feel even the slightest bit of validation because ol' Dumbles swings the same way. I...don't get it.

Making characters gay just to make a societal statement will be seen as cringeworthy by all after some time.

It's like how nobody needs Julia Styles to make a movie telling them interracial relationships are okay. We all know that already.

Look at how hard they had to fight for the level of acceptance they have now. A story where people from the 20's learn that lesson is just laughable.
