Its usually $1 or $2 difference, with certain sales. Id pay $2 to not have to make a trip to GameStop.

However, you cant sell the game back when youre done, obviously.

Spend $5 extra by having the game install from the comfort of my couch or save $5 to get in my car, use gas, and deal with crowds of people in Black Friday.

Convenience always wins.

I can drive there, deal with crowds and install the whole game before your digital downloads. Fitting for you how slow the download speeds are vs off the disc.

But hey, you dont have to leave the basement.

Exclusives or delayed launches. The only downside of being a PC gamer only is missing out on exclusives or having to wait for a big title. Probably more so for Sony and Nintendo but it's pretty common for PC gamers to own Nintendo systems as well.

If I could find a physical deal for less than digital, I'd go with the physical one, sure.
But in my case, that seems pretty unlikely. I'm looking for Nier Automata on PS4 and the prices I've found in stores I can order from are slightly more expensive than the 50% off digital version.

I like games on disc, but there's the inconvenience of having to change those discs. My console is positioned in a way where changing games is an awkward experience. With digital games, I can just pick one out of a list.

I still think physical game copies are important, though. I just really enjoy the price point and convenience of $7.55 PS3 games. I try to buy physical on Nintendo Switch because lugging around carts is a lot easier than storing discs.

For me personally, I don't game on my PC and prefer the simplicity and cohesiveness of a dedicated gaming console. I also got really sick of doing the hardware upgrade song and dance every couple of years back when I did game on my PC. It gets tiring.

I'd totally go 100% Steam if I didn't enjoy collecting hard copies of my games

That's like the one thing holding me back. I love my Steam and all but I just can't choke down spending more than $30 on a downloadable game

That is a serious bitch, though, you're right. It took me a couple of months to get all my ducks in a row for building out my most recent PC, only to have the GTX 10XX series announced and have my GTX 970's price drop by a hundred bucks within like a couple of months of me buying it

Honestly, my favorite part about the Switch is its great support for cartridges. It's the only current platform where you don't have to copy the entire game to its internal storage just to play it. And those little cartridges are so small that you can carry a big ol' load of them with you in your Switch case, which you'll have 'cause you ain't stickin' that thing in your pockets

I don't know about the current console generation, but the 360 had some absolutely insane deals in its prime, to the point that some entered a legal gray area with region-specific promotions that you could still access with a not-quite exploit. They also had an unlisted link for free gold.

Easily over a thousand dollars in free stuff that they didn't want you to know about. Later made explicitly illegal, but they never punished anyone before they changed the terms.

Are PS4 online sales really so bad as to not be comparable to physical deals? I know gamestop is still shit, for unwitting plebs. Unfortunately there are no mom n' pops in my area.
