I'm having a blast with it so far and find myself unable to put it down.

The hunting is so satisfying.

I enjoyed most of it but I definitely see how people could find it boring

The people who find it boring are generally the "need instant gratification" crowd

Haven't played it. But after a whole generation of open world games, I can't see how this game does anything major to set itself apart.

I use to be like that and I snapped out of it right before this game was released.

I've only went hunting a few times, but then I mostly rushed through the story since more and more posts and YouTube videos were spoiling the plot

I was still spoiled about something important

but anyway, I didn't find it to be boring

It doesn't really need to.

Most open world games on the market are trash, and R* is still king in that genre.

Really?

I feel like it handled the survival elements better than any game I've seen.

They have an effect on your abilities without being utterly crippling like many other games.

i find it so fun hold square for two minutes so that arthur can pick up two items from a drawer, open the bottom drawer, grab two items, open the top drawer, and grab two more items while dutch is yelling outside the house to hurry up and loot the place

It does set itself apart in how cohesive and dynamic it is. It's not a brand spanking new concept but it is the pinnacle of this type of game that throws you into a world and turns you loose. The consequences for what you do (or don't do) set it off even more. I'm right there in the field in a way no other game has done for me.

The people that don't like RDR2 are the people who buy Ubisoft games probably.

im enjoying RDR2 a lot but at times it kind of feels like a parody of rockstar games.

shit that i dont care about doing takes too many steps to do, there's a whole lot of "hold X to follow me on the horse while we talk" stuff, etc

I find it boring. The pacing is awful and the story is incredibly bland. I get why people love it, and the production values are great, and it's very well crafted. It just feels too linear, too slow, and somehow, like all the open world games that came before it.

I think the most annoying part is how it teases me into thinking I can handle missions my own way, but then doesn't even acknowledge when I do, anyway.

Also, the fans seem to be obssessed with the 'realism', but completely ignore the unrealistic things like the bounty system.

Still, though, don't get me wrong, great game.
