I don't know but I do think those games prey on weak people. being weak myself, I don't like it very much. I recently started playing Marvel Strike Force. and over the past month, I made a few small transactions in moments of weakness. and each time I regret it. I have vowed not to do it again, so so far I've held strong. but I hate how they tempt you

also some of those offers are total bullshit.

"pay 30 or 40 bucks and we will give you just almost enough shards to rank up a character!"

I think it creates an ecosystem where games that would otherwise be normal games, with earned equipment, gear, and progression, are not or made. Instead, we games with mechanisms that reward gambling or deliberately long grinds/stamina systems.

I loved the Fire Emblem game. I would have paid 30 bucks for a full game with non-gambling mechanic and no stamina system. Instead, I played it for a week, and stopped. And because people spend huge amounts of money, me opting out of the system doesn't really do anything.

Personally, I don't care if people spend hordes of money; my rub is more how this impacts the overall gaming ecosystem.

people who don't have money don't like being left out of a good experience

it's the same with just about anything that costs money in this world

I'm more concerned with the pay2win aspect of gacha games

A skilled player should not be outdone by someone with more money
