I thank GOD i decided to give da one piece manga another shot, da first time I was exposed to one piece was back when toonami aired it like 10 years ago maybe, but den dey removed it. I remember liking it, so I thought i'd go read its manga to see how badass it really is. but dat didn't end well, iunno why i just didn't think it was dat good and only got to the restaurant ship arc with sanji, and stopped reading like 2 chapters into dat arc.

But den, a few years later i was like fuck it and decided to re-read it again, thinking i should give it another shot and OMFG iunno why but i fucking loved it, iunno what was going through my mind during da first reading but fucking hell, when i reached da end of da nami arc i knew dis was something special. I cried for da first time reading a manga to da page where nami is crying....it still gives me hella feels and 5 years later da manga is still making me cry lol, its too good i can't believe yall hate it tbh

One Piece is indeed very long and indeed very weird. Which can certainly be pros or cons depending on the person.

But tbh I feel the same way, it's sad when people write it off for those reasons. Eiichiro Oda has accomplished things with One Piece that haven't been done in manga or even all comics. The only two series with more worldwide sales than One Piece are Batman and Superman. Batman will be topped shortly, and both of those series have 80 years, thousands of issues, and crowds of writers and illustrators working on them.
