My father had some history with horses. For awhile growing up he helped take care of horses, for the rest of his life he bet on them.

I've ridden four horses in my life with mixed success.

Why are we still measuring a combustion engine by horsepower? In a cinch are we going to ride a couple hundred thousand horses to the moon?

I would absolutely ride a horse everywhere if it was feasible.

But they are fucking expensive nowadays, way more so than a cheap car. Upkeep on them is a bitch and a half too.

I've spent 10 years taking care of a horse(who is my mothers), and in that time I've only ever met two or three other men who actively spend time around them, it's fucking insane how it's an interest strongly dominated by women or girls.

Also 99% of women who like horses are batshit insane, my mother has gotten into so many fights with other crazy women at boarding barns. I've heard of people being worried that somebody is going to poison another persons horse and so much more I could go on and on about the drama I've overheard.

Kind of, It's usually only caused by food made by humans for horses, like pellets and the such, but obviously you should never let them have their fill of that stuff anyway.

I like them and would spend time around them. But I dont know anyone with them. Haha. And my friends mom is pretty normal. But it sounds like its mostly the ones who own the horse that are crazy.
