It's a Pokemon game for people who grew out of Pokemon 20 years ago or are just getting into Pokemon, and the 30 year old neckbeards who never grew out of it are pissed cause it makes them feel bad cause they want to believe that Pokemon is a hardcore serious game now.

O for one wont play it because your crap overpowered starter is glued to your team and cant be boxed. Like, I dont like Pikachu, dont force me to use him every time I start a new game.

I found the game went from easy as fuck up to Misty but since putting Pikachu away it's gotten a little harder. Also it's a charming chill game and the new encountering pokemon method is quaint.

The starter is always on your shoulder but doesn't have to be active on your party. Since he's on your shoulder he can do the HMs.
