Unless they integrate smart watches into some kind of augmented reality, I'll probably wear a traditional watch for many more years.

don't really care about complications, i do like to see the movement, budget, like 300. Can you get a really reliable one for that? And i had a bulova and a kenneth cole automatic that broke, i heard it may be because they're magnetized, no idea.

yea you can make that budget work.

check out Orient Watches, they are a japanese brand with a pretty good reputation. what's cool about them is that they make all of their movements in-house so they're pretty interesting for the price point:

https://www.orientwatchusa.com/

you can get a good automatic from them for like $150 - $200, especially if you shop around (i think longislandwatch & jomashop both stock Orient watches).

I have the Orient Blue Ray and I like it a lot, it's a very sharp looking automatic diver and it gets a lot of compliments even though it is probably my cheapest piece. my suggestion is to go on r/watches and type in Orient, a lot of people will post pics of them wearing Orient watches so you can see what they look like on a real person's wrist and not just a model

does your seiko have a movement that you can see? to me you should pretty much get a quartz if you can't see the movement

Regular. If I'm wearing a watch, it's because I'm going for a certain look. A regular watch will be much more universal an accessory and more versatile than a smart watch, which may read as pretentious in some social contexts, and childish in others.

I have a smart watch but never use it since I don't find it that useful. I kind of would like a nice watch to wear for special events, but I've never been a watch person.
