I, for one, feels very strange about this.

As a Canadian, I have been her loyal subject all my life.

Ever since that fucking bastard Louis XIV decided to betray his own people by giving us to the British crown, we have lived under British rule.

The British have always treated us as devout, benevolent colonials. They didn't have to. We fought against them and lost. Yet we have been accepted under the breast of the British Crown and fed and nurtured.

A lot of public relations work. Lots of charity and the like. They've no power these days though, but bring loads in from tourism and do give back in numerous ways

You may want to Google what the queen actually does. It's a straight up job, and I know she puts in more hours per week than most of us. I used to think the same thing, it's actually pretty interesting what they actually do.

If nothing else, basically all royal family members bring in huge amounts of donations for charity and are actively involved in giving back by campaigning charitable causes.

That's not true. They'll replace the plates so future notes will have Charles, but the ones with Queen Elizabeth won't be replaced early.

Her mom lived to be a 100 or whatever so it may be a couple of years still.

Honestly though, I am kind of flabbergasted both she and her husband are still alive.
