Im about to start some balloon launches. Costs me about $25 per launch and assuming I can recover it, I get that back minus cost for balloon and helium.

Instead of radio emitter Im just using a GPS tracker. But if I enjoy it enough I might consider getting an amateur radio license and going that route, maybe even build a rig I can control when to drop its payload and whatnot.

For now I plan to attempt recovery myself but I may also attach instructions for other people to either mail back a prestamped postcard or invite them to log drop location and re-release.

Anyway, anyone have experience with this or geocaching? If so any interesting stories?
