Current Events > Siri misheard me and called my ex class mate from uni

Earlier today I said to Siri to tell me what time it was, but she misheard me (well I mumbled) and she called my ex class mate, I panicked and quickly aborted the call. But now she called me back.

We haven't spoke in like a year. We used to always hang in school but after I had to take a break we stopped having any contact.

I'm feeling really weird right now. I think we could be actual friends, but I was so damaged back then I could not share myself or connect with anyone on more personal level. I think I could now, but it's scary as hell, especially with my social phobia.

I need to process this and see what I could do with this.

I know this prob sounds really dumb and nothing of an issue, but it's big for me. I'm feeling stressed and anxious now. But also excited.

She lives in a city an hour away. I could text her tjat we could catch up over a cofee or something some day.

I'm thinking for my next path in life to focus on is my social connections, which is what I'm gonna talk with my therapist about.

One part has been to be more open with my coworkers (not meaning open about sexuality, just being open overall), so I can connect.

Another thing I want to do is reconnect with a childhood friend I haven't had contact with for over 10 years now.

Now this happened accidentally. So yeah. I dunno. I'm just feeling all weird now.

Btw I texted her. I wanna keep a connection even if it's not gonna amount to anything big.

I know. But for me it's really big. I mean I've had no friends since we entered 2000 pretty much. My only true friend is my man David right now. In high school I became an outcast. I worked 2004-2011 without ever connecting with anyone. After that my life started to change but slow and a winding path.

So connecting with people is hard for me.

I get that. But fuck it man, the energy spent worrying about it ends up tiring you more than just going for it.

Fear isn't rational and neither are emotions. You can just be lax about it but a lot of anxiety isn't so easy to just shut off or "get over".
