The photo of the student wearing the full hooded robe in American History Class went viral after an outraged recent graduate spotted it on snapchat and shared it The Popular Bluff High Alum said "How in the actual f* is this okay?. There's no excuse for this kind of ignorance. I'm so ashamed of this and i'm not even a student there anymore" It's unclear if the teacher made the kid dress as a klansman but it doesn't believe the 9th grader who put on the offensive costume was acting with discriminatory intent The kid dressed up for a discussion on organizations that engaged in voter suppression, during a wider talk about the 15th Amendment which awarded voting rights to black men. Superintendent Scott Dill even visited the class Monday to read the teacher's apology who said "There's no context for this. There's no point at which anyone in our public school system is going to say this is okay. It is very obvious that this can't happen in any setting anywhere and so we will do our best to ensure that we do what we do best, which is education" The teacher will not be named as he admitted to allowing him to wear the outfit and as a professional he should have known better. 85% of the students are white and just under 11 percent were black.
